After a nice ride in Sedona and a LOOOONG drive we arrived late that night at the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. This was really my first time stopping at the Grand Canyon and it was cool to arrive at night to save the first view for the morning. The North Rim is usually closed by this time of year but we got lucky. We pulled into camp and it was virtually empty. We didn't know until morning but we were camped about 50 yards from the rim. Good thing we didn't wander around in the dark too much. In the morning we woke up to amazing weather and the North Rim to ourselves with very few other people around.

It was a bit hazy but you could still make out the South Rim in the distance. There were some local fires which didn't help the air quality. We roamed around the trail along the North Rim and saw some cool things including a deer sitting under a tree about 20 feet from us and some ancient ruins from the Native Americans that lived in the area.

Pictures of mountains never show the scale you'll see when you are there. Same with canyons. You can't even see the bottom from where we were, it just keeps going down and down and down until you can't see anymore.
