Trabuco Canyon
Nathalie and I were training for a trip to the Big Horns and went out to Trabuco Canyon with our big packs on to get in some miles. It's a nice trail but not a lot of real specific sites to see. We found "Salamander Cave". I figure it was just a name, but sure enough it had salamanders in it. We had to be careful as they are really small and blend in well. I was afraid I was going to step on them but I don't beleive I did. We hiked up the West Horsetheif side of the canyon a bit further down and found a few geocaches along the way. Then we hiked back out. The more adventureous part of he trip was trying to locate the 50 foot waterfall that was rumored to be in the area. By coincidence I had loaded several geocache locations in the are and one was called "My Precious" which had a picture of the waterfall. After some bush whacking we made it to the falls. It was pretty cool, someone had built a small pond at the bottom and populated it with Koi. Here are some pics from that trip.
