Mt. Baldy - June 23, 2001
I talked one of my buddies, Kris, from work to hike up Baldy with me. We hit the trailhead about 6:30 AM. When we were getting out of the car, there was a massive rock slide across the valley, it lasted for several minutes.
We hiked pretty slow. The weather was great and so was the view. It was about 80 degrees and a very subtle cool breeze. We could see to Catalina to the west and to Edward's AFB to the East. We could even see the buildings in Downtown LA.
There were about 30 people on the summit when we got there. Everyone was shocked at the lack of wind. There were even butterflies flying around on the summit. Here are some pictures from the trip:

This is a picture of San Gorgonio and San Jacinto from the Baldy Summit.

This is a picture of Saddle Back Mountain. You can't see it very well in the picture, but you could make out Carbon Canyon and the 241 from the summit.

This is the view towards LA and Catalina.

This is a picture of the San Gabriel Wilderness. You can actually see the Angeles Crest HWY. Look at the lower peak at the right of the picture and you can make out the line where the HWY is.

This is a picture of the 15 and Victorville/Apple Valley with Big Bear in the background.

Here are Kris and I standing at the top of the cliffs at the top of the Bowl.
Finally, here is another 360 degree video from the top.
