Mt. Baldy - September 3, 2000
With the long Labor Day weekend, I wanted to get in a good hike. My plan was to wake up early in the morning but that didn't happen. On Sunday, about 3:00 PM, I was just sitting around and decided it would be nice to go up to Baldy and get some pictures of the sun going down. I packed light and hiked fast. I had to stop and renew my adventure pass on the way up.
Surpisingly there weren't that many people up there, especially since the race was happening on the 4th. I met about 10 people coming down on my way up to the hut. Once I passed the hut, I didn't see anyone again until I gained the ridge. There I ran into some guys that were camping for the night. I went up the ridge to about 9200 Feet. The wind was picking up so I snapped some pictures and started heading down. It was a great hike. I got about 40 pictures on the way down. Here are some of them.
This is San Jacinto, target for late October:

This is San Gorgonio, we plan to summit in 3 weeks:

Here are some pictures of Orange County, Upland and everything in between as the sun goes down.
