Dave's Back, Wes joins

Well after about 3 years, I finally hooked up with Dave again. We met at Rubidoux about 9 AM. I also just met Wes online and gave him directions.

Dave, his girlfriend Melissa and her daughter, and me hiked up to the Smooth Sole Slab area. Dave belayed me while I climbed the crack as seen on this page. I don't have any new pictures of it.

I was gearing up for the climb when Wes showed up. I am sure everyone was bored while I climbed at a snails pace. When I topped out, I set up an anchor and belayed Dave up. I setup a TR for him and Melissa to use. I rapped off and cleaned a few pieces that were in solid and Dave couldn't get out by hand.

Wes and I then headed to Major Bolt Ladder. I setup a static line and loaned him some gear since his is still mostly in Reno. He led to the "mini roof" as I have been calling it for lack of a better name. Here's a picture of Wes on the climb.

I cleaned and we called it a day. Wes had to bolt. Dave soon after came by with my gear and headed out too. I packed up and headed out.

It's good to have some climbing partners again.
