It was a great day, the sun was out, it wasn't too hot, there was a slight breeze. I was planning to meet Wes at Williamson Rock to do some climbing. Dave had just been there a few weeks earlier with his new girl friend and said the weather was nice and there wasn't any snow left.

I left the house a little before 7:30. I drove up the 15 to the 138 to the 2 just like I always do. Dave also takes this route. I noticed several signs saying the 2 was closed to Glendale. I thought that couldn't be good, but I drove on anyway. Since Dave had just been there I assumed the road must be open all the way to Williamson from this side.

Well I got to Vincent Gap and the road was closed!

It doesn't look like it has been open at all this year. Oh well, these things happen. Not to waste the day, I went for a quick run of about 1 mile on the Pacific Crest Trail which crosses the road at Vincent Gap. This was good training for the Mud Run coming up in 3 weeks. I also got a good view of Baldy's back side which still has a ton of snow on it. I'll be up there in 2 weeks for Hut repairs.

I guess I will climb another day.
